Airbnb board member and billionaire co-founder Joe Gebbia is helping Donald Trump gut public services to give the richest Americans more tax cuts. He even joined his close friend Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which has laid off thousands of workers and cut vital social services relied upon by millions of Americans, including the Social Security system. Since then, he’s taken on a chief role carrying out Trump‘s agenda.
It’s time for Airbnb to kick Joe Gebbia off their board!

Airbnb is avoiding their taxes.
Airbnb is starving San Francisco’s public services by trying to avoid paying $120 million in business taxes. When they don’t pay, we do: through cuts to our public transit, libraries, homelessness services, and more. This is despite the fact that Airbnb already benefits from massive tax breaks at the local and federal level. San Francisco isn’t broke, big tech is just refusing to pay their taxes.
It’s time for Airbnb to drop their lawsuit and pay what they owe!

By exploiting loopholes and avoiding regulation, Airbnb is taking hundreds of homes off the market. Corporate hosts are buying up whole buildings and converting them to ‘boutique hotels,’ allowing them to avoid short-term rental regulation. In 2022, the San Francisco Chronicle identified 6,444 listings city wide using data from Inside Airbnb. The same source now reports that there are almost 7,800 listings, an increase of over 1,300 listings in just three years, or 20% in just three years.
It’s time for Airbnb to follow the law and return homes to SF!
